Belly Button Piercing Infection Bump

First of all, let’s look at what the belly button piercing infection does. The belly button piercing infection bump is a small lump that appears on the belly after getting our piercing done. It happens when the body starts to heal after piercing. It’s the response of our immune system. This often results in inflammation which results in bumps.

Belly button infection takes longer than expected to heal. If you ignore it for a long time, it can be dangerous. They do cause keloid. Keloids are more commonly found in ear piercing than the belly button.

They look shiny, smooth and round. They appear in different colors like dark brownish, purplish and pinkish. So make Keloid contracts? Yeah, they contrast to an abscess that remains in a specific area. Keloid contract beyond the treated area.

What are several reasons for getting a bump? There can be generic issues as well. If someone in one’s family, sister, mother, and grandmother, has it, you can also develop it.

One of the reasons for the bump is that you do have dark skin. The third reason is the age factor. If you lie as a teenager, you can develop it. Another reason as well can be constant rubbing. If you have worn stuff that is not as smooth as it should be, you can get bumps.

Usually, once you get a belly piercing, it will probably take 6 to 12 months to heal completely. Belly button piercing is one of the piercings which takes the longest to heal, and it’s the most dangerous one if it gets an infection.

Sometimes the infection can be so nasty that it can also cause bleeding. Poor skin hygiene can also cause severe infection. What can one do when such an infection happens?

There are infections like maybe your abdomen is infected, or you have a yeast infection. If you have an abdominal infection, it can be removed by maintaining personal hygiene, wearing loose clothes, smooth clothes, and removing the jewelry from the piercing.

You can do it in the presence of some experts. For the yeast infection, you can have some antibacterial cream and powder, which will help eliminate the bacteria from there. What mainly can an infection do? What are the results?

Infection can cause severe allergies. This allergy can be intense as well, causing rash and swelling.

Piercing can cause skin disorders like eczema or psoriasis. Eczema is a skin disorder when skin can get tough, patchy, and cracked somewhere. It can cause inflammation as well. It can result in blisters as well.

The most common type of eczema is atopic dermatitis. A large number of populations get affected by this. Psoriasis is a condition where our immune system stops responding to allergies. It causes cells to rapidly develop on the skin, leading to thick plaques on the skin leading to itching.

How you can prevent the infection

  • Clean the piercing regularly. Usually two or three times a day. It will help the germs go away, and the piercing will remain uncontaminated.
  • Apply any antibacterial cream as bacteria will accumulate on the surface, which will cause the infection. Some of the antibacterial creams are Bacitracin, Neosporin etc.
  • Do not wear high waisted pants after getting the piercing done. Do not wear tight clothes. Keep the area open most of the time.

How can you clean the area? Use a saline solution twice a day. Saline solution is the solution of salt in water. You can use ¼ salt in a cup of water to make it. Rinse the belly button area with this solution and dry it with a soft cloth. Avoid placing your hands on piercing often. It can lead to the infection being unstoppable. Instead, change the jewelry according to the piercer’s advice which can also help.

See a doctor if your symptoms mentioned above aren’t going away. Symptoms aren’t improving, and my allergy is getting severe. You need to see a doctor rapidly. Go to a doctor to determine whether you have the infection or not. They will collect some samples and let you know if you have the infection. Then, they will focus on the reason for its better treatment.
